(Sacramento, CA) – 2026 – The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will celebrate the 15th annual International Jazz Day in all 50 states and over 190 countries around the globe on Thursday, April 30, 2026. In honor of Jazz Day, Sacramento Grammy Award-Winning artist, Jamie Davis, is performing in historic Oak Park at the Guild Theater at 6:30pm. Tickets are available at www.jamiedavis.com.
Jamie Davis, a Sacramento resident, is a classical jazz empresario with a distinguished international career. Davis won a 2023 Grammy Award for his work on “Basie Sings the Blues.” He’s known for his distinctive bass-baritone voice, versatility, and unwavering commitment to elevating jazz music as an art form. Davis rose to prominence as the lead vocalist for the legendary Count Basie Orchestra.
Davis will be joined on stage by Sacramento’s own jazz vocalist, Vivian Lee, and musicians Dr. Glen Pearson, Leon Joyce, Ron Belcher, and Richard Howell. “The International Jazz of Day fosters dialogue and celebrates the power of jazz and how it unites and transcends boarders around the world. Jazz music brings people together,” says Davis.
