BLACK MEN: Alive and Well

May 20 @ 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

The purpose of this group is to provide a safe and honest forum for Black men to come together twice a month and discuss issues related to being a Black man in America. We will check in, get current, and talk about things that we may find difficult to discuss in other settings, experiencing the unique therapeutic value of one Black man helping another.

Topics of Discussion:

We will discuss a wide range of topics, including:

Fatherhood & Intimate Relationships

Sexuality & Stereotypes

Defining Masculinity

Anger & Communication

Loving ourselves and our people

Employment, Education, & Socializing

Our own internal dialogue

Our Goals

Examine Inherited Issues: We will look at issues we have inherited that tend to hold us back rather than move us forward.

Overcome Barriers: We will address self-defeating ways of thinking and behaving that interfere with accomplishing our goals.

Personal Growth: We will support each other to identify and become the best version of ourselves.

Mutual Support: We value the importance of giving and receiving honest and compassionate feedback.

We meet every FIRST and THIRD Weds of the month 6pm-8pm (and YES, we will also feed you!)
