Ginger Rutland turned her mother Eva Rutland’s memoir of raising a black family in Sacramento into a play. Funny and mostly upbeat it tells the story of her childhood in Atlanta, early married life at the Tuskegee Air Force Base, where husband Bill Rutland worked in logistics and motherhood in Sacramento.
